Handheld terminals are usually specified with a built-in printer, because the first use case anyone thinks of is a mobile checkout. But a large share of handheld deployments never print anything: picking and put-away, cycle counts, asset audits, field sales order entry, attendance, delivery confirmation. Adding a printer to those adds weight, cost, a consumable and a failure point for a function nobody uses.
The DCA-H20 is that device: a 5.7-inch Android PDA at 300 g with no printer, an octa-core Qualcomm CPU, NFC, a three-track magstripe reader and a 5 MP camera with autofocus.
The body is 163 × 77 × 17.5 mm at 300 g including the battery. The comparable printer-equipped units in this range are 410 g and 224 mm long — a third heavier and 6 cm longer, which changes how the device is carried and how quickly it is brought to a label.
That difference is what makes this the right unit for work where the handheld is in hand continuously: a picker walking an aisle, a stock auditor working a shelf, a merchandiser checking planogram compliance. In those jobs the device is not put down between tasks, and 110 g matters by the end of a shift.
A 1.8 GHz Qualcomm octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM. On paper that is mid-range for a phone and high-end for a data-collection PDA, and the practical consequences are specific:
The touch panel is specified to work with gloves and wet fingers, and there are physical keys for power, volume and two scan triggers (Scan1 and Scan2).
Both details exist because of where the device is used. A capacitive panel that needs bare skin is useless in a cold store or a food-processing area where gloves are mandatory; a wet-finger-capable panel covers rain, wash-down areas and hands that have just handled chilled product. Two scan keys mean the device works left- or right-handed, and that a worn key does not disable scanning.
Input supports Chinese and English with handwriting and a soft keyboard.
BT 4.2 LE, Wi-Fi, and 4G in two band configurations: a European default (FDD-LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20, TDD B38/39/40/41, WCDMA B1/B2/B5/B8, GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and an American option. 3G covers WCDMA, TD-SCDMA and CDMA 1x/EVDO in the relevant variants.
Band coverage is the specification that decides whether a device works in a market, and it is the one most often assumed rather than checked. If the deployment is in North America, confirm the American band variant at order — the European default does not include the North American LTE bands.
NFC at 13.56 MHz covers ISO 14443 A/B and Mifare, which is the range used for staff badges, access control, asset tags and loyalty cards. Combined with the three-track magstripe reader (ISO 7811/7812/7813, bidirectional), the device reads the two card technologies that are still ubiquitous in workforce and asset tracking.
Positioning covers GPS with A-GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS or Galileo — relevant for delivery and field-service proof of location.
A 5 MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus. On a PDA the camera is not for photographs, it is for the cases the imager cannot handle: a damaged label, a serial number stamped into a casing, a signature on a delivery note, a damaged-item record for a claim. Autofocus is what makes close-up document and label capture usable.
The device runs Safedroid OS, based on Android 10/11 — a hardened build with the device-management layer that enterprise deployments expect. If your MDM or your app has Android version requirements, confirm the shipping build at order; the underlying Android version determines app compatibility more than any other specification here.
No. It is a data-collection PDA. If mobile receipt printing is required, the H30 or H50 have built-in 58 mm printers.
It reads NFC at 13.56 MHz for cards, badges and tags, but it is not an EMV-certified payment terminal. Card-present payments need the H50.
Yes — the panel is specified to work with gloves and wet fingers, and there are two physical scan keys.
A European default configuration and an American option. Confirm the band variant for your market at order; the default does not include North American LTE bands.
Safedroid OS based on Android 10/11. Confirm the shipping build if your app has a version requirement.
12 months minimum. OEM branding, pre-installed apps and MDM configuration are available — ask at quotation stage.
Next step: tell us the workflow (picking, audit, field sales, attendance), the market’s 4G bands and the app you will run — we will confirm the configuration and quote factory-direct. Email sales@dcapos.com or contact us.
