Touch screen monitor DCA-1701, 17-inch 5:4 panel

DCA-1701 touch screen monitor, front view, 17-inch 5:4 panel

DCA-1701 · 17-inch 5:4

The catalogue monitor. 1280 × 1024 on a 5:4 panel, capacitive touch on ITO film over ITO glass, 300 cd/m², matte anti-glare surface. No computer inside — it takes a feed from whatever PC the counter already runs.

All-in-one POS machine with capacitive touch screen

All-in-one · touch and PC in one box

Same panel with the board built in. Android or Windows, 15 inch and up, with the serial, USB and cash-drawer ports a till needs. One power lead, one warranty, one thing to mount.

Kitchen display system DCA-215C on a pole mount

Kitchen display · suspended from a pole

21.5 inch on a pole mount, read from across a pass. Fanless housing, because a kitchen running at 40 °C does not need a fan pulling grease through the board.

Floor-standing · check-in and ticketing

A kiosk body with a touch panel in it, for queues that were never at a counter. Height, plinth and enclosure finish are quoted against the site, not a catalogue page.

Pole display · facing the customer

10.1 inch IPS on an adjustable pole, showing the running total and the payment prompt. Separate power feed, so it keeps its own settings when the till restarts.

Touch Screen Monitor product range

Panel only · for your own enclosure

Bare panel and touch controller, no bezel, no stand. You bring the housing and the drawing; we match the touch layer, the cover glass and where the cable leaves the box.

DcaPOS Touch Screen Monitors

We build one catalogue monitor and take custom work from there. The DCA-1701 exists for two reasons: a 1024 × 768 POS layout still wants a 5:4 panel, and a display with no computer inside it outlives the PC it is plugged into.

Everything past that is quoted from your drawing rather than assembled from a list. Distributors, integrators and brand owners specify the touch layer (PCAP or resistive), the panel size and resolution, the bezel, the enclosure material and where the cable leaves the box. The logo goes on the bezel at the point where tooling is committed, not after the first batch ships.

DCA-1701 touch screen monitor, rear view showing the stand and VESA mounting plate

DCA-1701 · 17 inches of 5:4

1280 × 1024 with a 0.264 mm pixel pitch and a 337.92 × 270.336 mm display area. 300 cd/m², 1000:1 contrast, 160° / 150° viewing angle, 5 ms response. Matte anti-glare surface and 3H glass — a counter panel, not a showroom panel.

Custom builds · from your drawing

Touch layer, cover glass, bezel, enclosure and cable exit are decided at drawing stage, not on the order form. Prototypes get reviewed on the bench before tooling is cut.

Why Choose DcaPOS for Your Touch Screen Monitor Solutions?

  • OEM/ODM From the Drawing Up: Size, resolution, brightness, touch technology, interface set (HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, USB touch), bezel, ruggedisation and branding are all settable. The real constraints are the panel and the tooling budget, and we will tell you where those land before you commit.
  • Aging Before Shipping: Every unit runs an aging test before it leaves the line. That is where a marginal controller or backlight shows up — not at the customer’s counter three weeks later.
  • Specified for the Site: A retail counter, an industrial hall and a hospital corridor ask for different brightness, glass and ingress protection. The spec sheet follows the site, not the catalogue.
  • Drivers and Consultation: Touch drivers, HID descriptors and cabling drawings ship with the unit, so your software team is not reverse-engineering the touch interface after the first batch arrives.
  • One Plant, One Quote: Panels, touch controllers and housings are sourced and assembled in the same factory, so the unit you approve as a prototype is the unit that ships in volume.

Applications of Touch Screen Monitors

These panels end up where somebody has to touch a screen with a queue behind them: a till, a check-in desk, a kiosk in a lobby, a menu board read from the wrong side of a pass. The hardware has to survive that, and the specification has to be honest about it — a 300 cd/m² matte panel is right for a counter and wrong for a shop window in direct sun.

Retail & POS Systems

The till, the second screen on a pole and the back-office PC all hang off the same counter. Retail is where a 5:4 panel still earns its place — the product grid and the cart were laid out for it.

Self-Service Kiosks

Ordering and check-in screens get touched with wet hands, gloves and a queue behind them. Here the touch layer and the cover glass matter more than the processor does.

Industrial Control & HMI

Control panels, picking stations and HMI boxes. When the screen sits in a dusty hall instead of a shop, the enclosure and the IP rating are the specification, not an accessory.

Healthcare Check-in

Check-in desks and wayfinding in a building where nobody reads the manual. Glare is the enemy: a matte panel under corridor lighting, wiped down several times a shift.

Digital menu board DCA-32 showing a restaurant menu

Menu Boards & Signage

A menu board is read from four metres away by someone deciding what to eat. Brightness and viewing angle carry that job; the touch layer does not.

Supermarket Self-Checkout

A scale, a scanner, a card reader and a screen the customer operates with no one standing next to them. The panel has to survive being leaned on by a full trolley.

Have a Question?

General Questions

We understand you have questions about selecting the right touch screen monitor for your needs. Below, we’ve addressed some common inquiries to help guide your decision.

Our touch screen monitors primarily feature Projected Capacitive (PCAP) touch technology. This technology is renowned for its responsiveness, multi-touch capabilities (typically 10-point), and durability, making it ideal for commercial and interactive applications. We ensure the touch experience is smooth and accurate.

The catalogue model is the DCA-1701: 17 inch, 5:4, 1280 × 1024 with a 337.92 × 270.336 mm display area. That ratio is not sentiment — a 1024 × 768 POS layout keeps its cart lines on a 5:4 panel and loses them on 16:9. Wider 16:9 panels and other sizes are built to order, with resolution and brightness quoted against the panel actually specified. Anything outside the catalogue goes through the same OEM/ODM route: you give the size and resolution, we quote panel and tooling.

Yes, our touch screen monitors are designed for broad compatibility. They typically work seamlessly with popular operating systems like Windows, Android, and Linux using standard HID (Human Interface Device) drivers, often offering plug-and-play functionality for ease of integration.

Absolutely. OEM/ODM customization is a core strength at DcaPOS. We partner with you to tailor touch screen monitors to your precise requirements. This includes branding (logo, custom colors), enclosure design modifications, specific I/O port configurations, integrated peripherals, and even board-level engineering to meet unique functional needs. Your vision, our manufacturing expertise.

Alongside the counter, the same panels run in:

  • Retail and POS: the till itself, plus customer-facing displays on a pole.
  • Self-service: check-in, ordering and ticketing kiosks.
  • Kitchen and menu boards: suspended displays read across a pass.
  • Industrial: control panels and HMI stations.
  • Healthcare: patient check-in and wayfinding.

If an application needs a touch panel with no computer behind it, the monitor is the part you specify; the PC is sourced separately or quoted with the build.

The DCA-1701 as catalogued is a counter-top unit on its own stand. Open-frame and panel-only builds are made to order for OEM customers who supply their own enclosure, and the same panels are used on our pole-mounted customer displays and suspended kitchen displays. VESA hole patterns are quoted per build — tell us the arm or wall plate you are fitting and we will match it.

Reliability is paramount. Our commercial-grade touch screen monitors are built with high-quality components, often featuring hardened glass surfaces for enhanced scratch and impact resistance. They undergo stringent quality control processes, including mandatory aging tests, to ensure they withstand the demands of continuous operation in commercial environments. Duty cycle is quoted per build — a counter display in a shop and a suspended menu board in a kitchen are asked to do different things, and we would rather rate each one than claim a single number for the range.

We are committed to your success. We provide comprehensive support, starting with pre-sales consultation to help you select or design the optimal product. This extends to technical assistance during integration and dedicated after-sales service to address any hardware queries. Have more questions about touch screen monitors?

Contact us today! We’re here to provide the reliable hardware foundation for your success.

Tell us the panel size, the environment and the volume.

A quote for a touch monitor needs four things: the size you want, where it gets installed, how many units are in the first order, and whether the housing is yours or ours. Send those four and you get a panel recommendation and a price. If you are still choosing between 5:4 and 16:9, send a screenshot of the software instead. We will tell you which ratio it was laid out for — that answer usually settles the panel before the price comes up.
